Our Montessori Playroom Tour

Happy Wednesday BR family! Today I thought I would share something really close to my heart, with you! Edward and I have decided to try and raise Elle using the Montessori method. The teaching style really appeals to us as a family and I couldn’t recommend it more. I don’t intended to go deeply into the principles of Montessori, on this blog, because I am not an expert. I am only a mom trying her best to make it happen at home haha. Every now and then I would love to share Montessori DIYs and play exercises that Elle does! Hopefully you guys will enjoy some of that. β˜ΊοΈπŸ’– Anyways – into the tour!

This 8 cube is the focal point of our playroom. It houses her current rotation of toys within the shadow boxes and some toy storage within the bins.

In her shadow boxes this week we have her wooden rainbow, her bead wires, a wooden toddler puzzle, and a xylophone! Elle loves these toys. I’d say her favorite would have to be her wooden puzzle right now. I found it at savers for $1 and it’s SO UGLY hahah but simple and fun. I also found her wired beads at savers – I highly suggest trying to find wooden toys second hand. They can be easily sanded and cleaned and they last forever.

Inside the bins (from left to right) we have her stuffed animals, some random toys and chew toys, and a ton of board books. The bin on the far right is some socks and pjs β˜ΊοΈπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ hahah sometimes we dress her in her pjs downstairs.

On the top of the 8 cube we have a set of baskets. I found these super cute baskets at hobby lobby on sale! They crush easily like a cloth but they hold their shape. Almost impossible for her to destroy and also cute…. that’s πŸ’― in my book. πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

I change out what’s in these baskets often. Every week I try to give her a new activity to focus on. And I place the activity inside one of these baskets and put it on the floor for her. Sometimes I switch things up throughout the day. Right now you can see I have blocks, flash cards, and some random balls.

To the right of the 8 cube we have some coat hangers for her coats. This is where I plan to have Elle’s shoes as well. So she can learn to put her coat and shoes on herself – along with any cute purse she will own in the future. 😍πŸ₯°

To the left of the 8 cube we have our piklar triangle! Which we had been wanting since Elle was born! We got it for her for Christmas and it’s been so fun. Elle has become much more confident climbing on it now. I know she will only enjoy it more once she is walking. Our climber is from Lily & River, an American company.

By the slider door we have her quite place chair and her bouncing bee jumper. β˜ΊοΈπŸ’–πŸ The rocking chair I got second hand from Facebook market. The bee I got from target.

And lastly upstairs we have Elle’s Ikea LATT table and chairs. I put a cushion on the chairs myself. It was super easy!

I hope you enjoyed Elle’s play room tour!! Comment if you have any questions.
